EBC1082 Midterm Project: Pop Culture

Culture is slowly formed by the accumulation of time, and Taiwan has a variety of cultures. Because Taiwan has been ruled by many countries, you can see the shadow of these countries through these cultures. Therefore, Taiwan’s culture is also divided into local culture and foreign culture. Among Taiwan’s local culture, there are Minnan culture, Hakka culture and aboriginal culture. The foreign culture can be seen from some ruins or some food styles.
Taiwan, when it comes to this small island, what kind of picture appears in your mind? Is it the natural beauty that is so clever? Or is it the Taiwanese people who are hottest? Or was it the 101 building, which was the tallest building in the world? For me, delicious Taiwanese snacks are the first picture that comes to my mind. With all my thoughts, I seem to be able to smell the smell of food that is far away!
Since Taiwan is a society that integrates the cultural characteristics of various ethnic groups, this diverse style is also reflected in food. For example: Tainan noodles, Hakka rice noodles, meatballs, coffin plates ‧ ‧ ‧ ‧ ‧ ‧ and other foods, each taste has its own unique taste, and these snacks, through the skill of different chefs Below, there is a new life, and after blending with the local cultural characteristics, it is even more unique.
Taiwanese folk culture, such as puppet shows and Taiwanese operas, are usually present when someone succeeds or celebrates festivals and the birth of gods. In addition, there are temple fairs, dragon dances, lion dances, and eight generals. To exorcise evil, avoid evil, and pray for blessing. Regarding religious beliefs, the most famous in Taiwan should be the Mazu Temple and the Guandi Temple. Of course, there are other different beliefs. But these two are the most familiar temples of almost all Taiwanese.
Taiwan, as I know it, is a place full of human touch and a multicultural country. In Taiwan, if you get lost, you do n’t have to rush out your mobile phone or satellite navigation, because pedestrians on the roadside will be very enthusiastic. Let me tell you, sometimes you will encounter kind old men and grandma, and they will even take you with you. This is what I know of Taiwan.
